We’re now The Contemporary Theatre of Ohio (The Contemporary), a name that better reflects our commitment to contemporary theatre and our roots in Ohio. Our purpose remains the same – harnessing the transformational power of theatre that is rooted in the current moment, inspiring empathy for adults and young people. With our new name, we're looking forward to expanding our reach and making an even greater impact regionally in the world of theatre.

For ease of ordering, subscription prices include the 5% Columbus Arts & Culture Fee and any applicable facility fees. The Columbus Arts & Culture Fee helps make the arts available to all by funding exemplary artists, arts organizations and programs that educate and engage audiences throughout Greater Columbus.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
New and renewing subscribers can purchase The Contemporary’s 2023-2024 season packages by using the below links to buy online, by mailing in a subscription form, or by calling the CBUSArts Ticket Center at (614) 469-0939. 4-Show Subscriptions are available now and Flex Packages are available starting June 15, 2023.
PLEASE NOTE: All seating is General Admission for 2023-2024 season. Subscribers receive access to seating 10 minutes before the public for every performance. If you require accessible or wheelchair accommodations, please select those options when buying online or denote that need on your subscription form. You can also call the CBUSArts Ticket Center at (614) 469-0939 to facilitate your seating requests.
4-Show Subscription Package ($172)
4-Show Subscription: Build the theatre you love into your busy schedule, save money, and get bonus subscriber perks when you subscribe to our full season. The 4-Show Subscription Package allows you to pick one performance from each of the 4 season titles, including POTUS, Good Grief, Skeleton Crew, and Ride The Cyclone. Season benefits include a discount over single ticket pricing, free and unlimited exchanges, a dedicated customer service team at CBUSArts, discounts on additional tickets, and early seating access on the night of your show. Those who renew before June 30th receive a special gift. When purchasing your subscription, you also get early and discounted access to two additional shows: A Christmas Carol, starring Angela Iannone (Dec. 14 - 23) and The Worries of Wesley, about tackling life’s challenges with confidence (Jan. 26 – Feb. 4).

The 3-Show Subscription Package allows you to pick one performance from each these titles: Good Grief, Skeleton Crew, and Ride The Cyclone. Season benefits include a discount over single ticket pricing, free and unlimited exchanges, a dedicated customer service team at CBUSArts, discounts on additional tickets, and early seating access on the night of your show. When purchasing your subscription, you also get early and discounted access to two additional shows: A Christmas Carol, starring Angela Iannone (Dec. 14 - 23) and The Worries of Wesley, about tackling life’s challenges with confidence (Jan. 26 – Feb. 4).
For the 2023-2024 season, The Contemporary is again offering a Flex Ticket Package, which offers discounts over single ticket prices and provides you the flexibility to choose your shows. Flex Tickets are purchasable in multiples of 6 and can be exchanged into any of the 4 season shows in the Riffe Center this season. Other benefits include limited fees, a dedicated subscription service team at CBUSArts, free and unlimited ticket exchanges, and discounts on additional ticket purchases. You cannot use Flex Tickets for A Christmas Carol or The Worries of Wesley, but you do receive early and discounted access to buy these two additional shows when purchasing your Flex Package.
SEATING
All seating is General Admission, meaning seats are not reserved or assigned. Subscribers receive access to seating 10 minutes before the public at each performance.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long do I have to decide about purchasing tickets for the 2023-2024 season?
The 4-Show Package is available through the end of the run of POTUS. Flex Packages will be on sale through at least Winter 2024.
Can I call someone to order my subscription package over the phone?
Yes! Have your account number handy if possible and call the CBUSArts Ticket Center at (614) 469-0939 — Ask to be transferred to Subscription Services. We are available Monday through Friday from 9a-5p.
How do I buy the additional season performances of A Christmas Carol and The Worries of Wesley?
As a 4-Show or Flex subscriber, you receive early and discounted access to A Christmas Carol and The Worries of Wesley. You can purchase these in several ways:
- Once your subscription package is in your cart, look for the links in your cart or at checkout or use the CBUSArts search bar to find your desired show.
- Use the links in your confirmation email to purchase online after buying your package.
- Denote your additional purchases on your subscription form and mail it to the CBUSArts Ticket Center.
- Purchase tickets with the CBUSArts Ticket Center either in-person or by phone at (614) 469-0939. We can offer the discount once your account’s subscription is confirmed.
Can I buy one or two shows instead of the entire season?
Single tickets are on sale starting July 5, 2023. Tickets are purchasable through CBUSArts online or by phone or in-person at the CBUSArts Ticket Center (39 E State St, 43215).
Will I need to make a new CBUSArts account?
If you are a new or renewing subscriber but have an existing CBUSArts account, you can use your same login and password to purchase your subscription.
If you are a new subscriber and are new to CBUSArts.com, you will need to create a new account with your primary email address.
When can I start exchanging my Flex Vouchers for specific shows and seats?
Flex Ticket Vouchers may be exchanged starting July 5, 2023 when single tickets go on sale to the general public.
Is The Contemporary continuing the masking requirements for the First Sunday performance of each title?
No. At this time, there are no masking requirements for any performance in the 2023-2024 season.
When will I receive my tickets by mail or be able to print from my CBUSArts account?
Subscription tickets will be mailed and/or made digitally available starting June 15, 2023. Single ticket purchases will be mailed and/or made digitally available upon purchase. You can always view your tickets in your CBUSArts account either through a browser or the CBUSArts app.
When will the general public be able to buy their tickets?
Single tickets are on sale starting July 5, 2023.
